GO FOR GOLD … INDEED THEY DID!

It’s just over a week that the school Annual Day
celebrations have ended, but the spirit and the resounding theme have not. The musical ‘Go For Gold’ staged on the
annual day seems to have struck a chord not only with the audience that
witnessed the play, but also the actors and students on the stage. A case in point is the recently concluded
u-13 MSSA inter-school basketball tournament.
The school u-13 basketball team backed by a tremendous self-belief and
an equally resolute coach, Mr. Raju, made light work of their opponents to bag
the coveted trophy for the second time in three years.
In a competition that decides the Mumbai’s best, our young
basketball players brushed aside the challenge of some renowned schools to make
it to the finals played on 11th Feb 2013 at Indian Gymkhana,
Sion. Dishing out an attractive and
delightful game of basketball, our boys overpowered VIBGYOR 29-15 in the finals
to emerge as the MSSA champions in the u-13 category. It was a sweet taste of victory for our boys
who trained hard, worked as a cohesive unit under their coach, and executed
their plan to perfection in the entire tournament.
With yet another gold in their kitty, St. Joseph’s are sure
driven by on by a desire to achieve nothing but the best!
